Your step-by-step guide to the Link Choices link exchange

  1. Register
Go to the ‘register’ link at the top of this page and give us a few personal details (name, email address, etc).
  2. Add website
When you’ve registered and logged in, you’ll need to register a website. This will be added to our directory, and you’ll be able to exchange links straight away.
  3. Browse directory
Take a look at our directory for websites you’d like to exchange links with. The links are sorted into categories, so you can find ones that would be relevant to your users.
  4. Add sites to basket
Select any sites that you’d like to exchange links with.
  5. Add link HTML to your link page
It’s a good idea to link to each of your chosen sites before you request a link exchange with them. When you choose a site to link with, the HTML is provided next to the other details in your basket, so you can just copy and paste it into your site.
  6. Submit link requests
Your chosen websites will receive a link request from you, and will be able to accept or deny it.
  7. Wait for websites to accept your link request
You can choose to receive an email notification if your request is accepted, or you can keep checking your Link Choices account.
  8. Download link tracker software
You can use our link tracker software to keep an eye on the websites you’re linking to – it will tell you if they drop your link. Download the software for free on the ‘My Account’ page.
  9. Import links in CSV format
If you have a long list of links to go into the link tracker, you can import them all together. On the ‘My Account’ page, click on ‘Download all approved linkpage URLs sent/received’. This will download an Excel CSV file that contains all of your link URLs. Open your link tracker software and click ‘Import CSVs’.
  10. Track links
The websites you exchange links with might drop your link or go out of business. Check whether your links still exist on other websites by clicking the ‘Start All’ button in your link tracker.
